When Woodthorpe Comms and Quba & Co first met, the brand had an ardent following of regional and sailing community clients. We recognised that with the right PR and product placement, the brand could drastically widen its consumer base and enter the realms of mainstream fashion and lifestyle whilst still retaining its unique edge. Quba & Co isn’t just about clothing, it’s about the culture behind the brand, a love of the coast and the authenticity of the product. We created a strategy that would bring these stories to the fore whilst making sure the brand was seen in the gift guides, product placement pages and seasonal trend round-ups. Collaborating with a renowned luxury boutique hotel, the activity launched with a press trip to their base in Salcombe with key members of the media allowing them to witness the hands-on production process and to showcase the brands’s unique provenance. Coverage has included Shortlist, The Times Magazine and Marie Claire and their customer base now stretches across the country.
