Curated by artist Christian Furr, Liverpool Love was a unique art exhibition celebrating the city of Liverpool through the contributions of some of the world’s leading artists including: Yoko Ono, Terry De Havilland and Shauna Richardson.
The aim of Liverpool Love, held at The Museum of Liverpool, was to raise money and awareness for Claire House Children’s Hospice. We’ve worked on many events over the years from launches to PR stunts and this one combined a unique blend of credible celebrities, influential art and a children’s charity. We were approached to generate buzz around the London Launch and PR the individual artists involved.
Woodthorpe Comms’ Solution
This brief saw Woodthorpe Comms working with all the major stakeholders involved in the project, from the creator and founder, artists and management companies to the museum’s in-house PR, to bring together the regional PR for the London launch event. Joining the project at a later stage and working to an immovable deadline meant that our first port of call was to lean on our listing, event and contacts looking after the social pages to make them aware of the event at short-notice to generate timely coverage and noise about the event across the London scene.
Coverage was secured in Grazia, The Lady and The Independent, to name a few. Focusing on the individual artists, creating press releases and targeting the London regional publications ensured the launches were packed with the right kind of people – those ready and willing to support this vital cause.
